Wilson, NC's Stop Hunger Now Month

The city of Wilson, North Carolina proclaimed February 2009 "Stop Hunger Now Month." Numerous local organizations came together to support SHN including Barton College, local Rotary clubs, and the Wilson County Ministerial Association. Their efforts culminated in a packaging event April 22, 2009.

President William Jefferson Clinton Hunger Leadership Award

Stop Hunger Now and the NC State University Center for Student Leadership, Ethics & Public Service (CSLEPS) presented the first annual President William Jefferson Clinton Hunger Leadership Award to NC State student John Coggin on January 26, 2009.

Mexico

In December 2008, SHN's Nina DaSilva Batista traveled with a medical team to the Copper Canyon area of Mexico to work with our partner, Tarahumara Ministries, to provide healthcare and basic necessities to the indigenous Tarahumara Indians of the region.

South Africa and Madagascar

Stop Hunger Now president, Ray Buchanan, and director of development, Chessney Barrick, visited South Africa and Madagascar in Fall 2008 to build partnerships and monitor organizations we support in those countries.

Bolivia

Stop Hunger Now CEO, Rod Brooks, travelled to Bolivia in the Spring of 2008 to establish an ongoing school lunch feeding program in rural, hunger stricken communities.

Peru

During the summer of 2007, Stop Hunger Now responded to a devastating earthquake on the coast of Peru by sending emergency food aid to the region.
