Millenium Development Goals
 |
The United Nations has developed eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to address the basic needs of the world's people. The goals range from cutting extreme poverty in half to halting the spread of HIV/AIDS and ensuring universal primary education, all by the target date of 2015. The MGDs were created as a blueprint toward development agreed to by all the world’s countries and the world’s leading development institutions. They mark an unprecedented effort to address the needs of the world’s poorest people.
